Mount Manaslu is the highest peak of the Gurkha massif, and is the eighth highest mountain in the world. It is located about forty miles east of Mount Annapurna. The mountain's long ridges and valley glaciers offer feasible approaches from all directions, and it culminates in a peak that towers steeply above its surrounding landscape is a dominant feature.First ascent was made by T. Imanishi (Japan) and Gyalzen Norbu (Sherpa).

  • Expedition costs are based on group travel and members must follow the itinerary strictly. Additional charges will apply for individual travel.
  • Expedition itinerary may be subject to changes to unforeseeable circumstances such as changes in govt. regulations, natural disasters, change in air schedules, major political unrest or war etc.
  • All expedition climbers must have their medical and evacuation coverage arranged in their home country before joining the expedition.
  • All oxygen cylinders, masks and regulators, used or unused, remain the property of Asian Trekking. No refunds will be provided against oxygen cylinders and mask systems.
  • Asian Trekking reserves the right to cancel the expedition if less than 7 signs ups.
We strongly recommend that all expedition climbers have their medical, evacuation and repatriation insurance coverage arranged in their home country before joining the expedition.

You need to be in excellent physical condition: be ready to walk or climb more than 10 hours a day. You may be subjected to face extreme weather and high altitude. The terrain will be very rock and icy and remote. Technical climbing equipment is required..

Packages Details

Cost Includes
  • Transfer airport-hotel- airport for International and domestic flights.
  • Welcome group dinner in Kathmandu.
  • Transportation of staffs, food supply and equipments from Kathmandu-base camp-Kathmandu Arughat Bazar (road head) by vehicle and porters.
  • Member’s personal climbing equipment Kathmandu-- Base Camp-Kathmandu (max 45 Kg per person).
  • Fullboard during trekking to base camp at the local lodges before and after expedition.
  • Single tent with mattress at Base Camp for each member.
  • Support of 1 high altitude Sherpa per member to carry all food and gear to higher camps. Also assist members during climb and summit attempt.
  • 2 bottles of 4 ltrs TopOut oxygen per member and 2 for HAS with mask set on rental basis.
  • Common climbing equipment (Required rope, ice bar, ice screw, etc).
  • High altitude tents for all members and climbing Sherpa.
  • Applicable National Park and entrance fees.
  • Restop toilet bags to bring human waste off the mountain for all members.
  • All food and fuel for Base Camp and higher camps during expedition.
  • One walkie talkie sharing between client and Sherpa.
  • Sat Phone available at Base camp, but nominal charge for use.
  • Solar panel at Base Camp for light and charging small electronics. (Eg. mobile phones, amateur digital cameras and handheld video cameras).
  • Service of cook and kitchen boy at Base Camp.
  • All kitchen tent, store tent, dining tents, toilet tent, table and chairs and cooking utensils for Base Camp.
  • Insurance of climbing Sherpa, cooks, Kitchen Boys, Liaison Officer and porters.
  • Equipments allowance, wages for Government Liaison Officer, high altitude climbing Sherpa, cook and kitchen boy.
  • Garbage disposal charges.

  • International airfare from / to your country.
  • Hotel accommodation and Meals in Kathmandu.
  • Personal climbing gear above base camp
  • Excess personal member’s baggage transport Kathmandu-Beni- base camp US$ 8 per kg one way.
  • Personal insurance such as travel, accident, medical, emergency evacuation, and lost luggage.
  • Applicable permit fees and customs charges, etc. for SAT phone, communication equipment, and commercial filming.
  • Expenses of a personal nature such as hard and soft drinks, laundry, postage, telephone, Email, etc.
  • Applicable customs duty and import license fees for all personal expedition goods arriving in Nepal by air/road as cargo.

Fitness/Ability Requirement


To join this expedition

  • You must be proficient in climbing in all weather conditions with some experience on snow and ice.
  • You must be able to climb with an alpine pack on your back.
  • Experience with high-altitude conditions and camping is ideal.
  • Previous climbing experience with ascents of 7000 metre peaks strongly advised.
  • You must be in excellent physical condition, having prepared for this expedition for at least half a year prior to the expedition with a rigorous training regimen.
