The Great Himalayan Trail described as “One trail to rule them all” traverses Nepal’s entire mid-hills and the lower mountains.The trek is organized to highlight the impacts of climate change in the Himalayas and to promote The Great Himalaya Trail as the best tourism trail in the world which offers trekkers to experience extremely rich cultures, breathtaking landscapes and diverse range of flora and fauna.Apa Sherpa (21X Mt. Everest summiteer) and Dawa Steven Sherpa (2X Mt. Everest summiteer and Managing Director of Asian Trekking (P) Ltd. completed 1,555 KM in 99 days long Great Himalaya Trail on 15th January – 23 April 2012. The event has endorsed by Climate Change Council, the apex body of Government of Nepal headed by Rt. Hon. Prime Minister. The mountaineer duo was accompanied by Saurav Dhakal – BCICC, Samir Jung Thapa – the official photographer of the event and guides, cooks, camp staffs and porters from Asian Trekking (P) Ltd.GHT-CSCT is organized by the Himalayan Climate Initiative (HCI) in coordination with Government of Nepal, particularly Ministry of Environment, and Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, with the support of DFID, British Council, SNV, GHTDP Partners. The event had received support of corporate partners Geo-Eye, Asian Trekking (P) Ltd, The North Face and Nepal Mountaineering Association.Asian Trekking proudly introduces Fixed Departure Trek in the year 2013 in seven segments and looking forward for your active participation in one of the trek.

Good To Know

Asian Trekking is a Nepali expedition operating company established 41 years ago. According to Paragraph 26 of the Tourism Act (2035), no foreign expedition teams or companies are allowed to provide expedition services in Nepal directly and any foreign company must work through a Nepali company licensed by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Nepal. As such, Nepali companies are the ones that provide all the legal, administrative, logistical, guiding and support services in Nepal, while also being legally responsible for the safe and responsible conduct of the expeditions. Booking through foreign expedition companies naturally makes the cost to the customer higher due to the extra layer of administration and profit margins, without necessarily adding any extra value.
