NMA/CAHC at Paris Climate Conference 2015 – COP21
Dear all,
Many of you might already be following the events of the Paris Climate Conference also known as the COP21. This annual conference is the gathering of the world’s leaders and experts on climate change to set national and global goals to solve climate change. This year each member country of the United Nations submitted legally binding national goals to reduce carbon emissions, including Nepal. The outcome of this year’s conference is one of the most highly anticipated ones compared to past years owing to the urgency of the climate disruption.
We are pleased to share with you that Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) and Climate Alliance of Himalayan Community was able to establish its presence at COP21 through the representation of our president of NMA/Chairperson of CAHC, Ang Tshering Sherpa. He carried the voices of the mountain communities and conveyed the message of growing vulnerability of mountain inhabitants as a result of melting Himalayas in his address at the conference event, press meet and the conference booth. Please go through the links below to check his activities at COP21.
