EXPEDITION UPDATE 01-OCT-2013

Sirdar Mingma Sherpa has reported that Alex Barber has successfully summitted Mt.Cho-Oyu on 01-Oct-13 at 08:30 AM. He has returned back to base camp safely. Gia tortladze has also returned back to base camp and the team is preparing for a return to Kathmandu on the 4th Oct.
Int. Shishapangma Summit Attempt (as per information received from Eelco):
1-Oct : Eelco, Frank and Danilo reached camp 2. The weather is not so good but they plan to continue to camp 3 tomorrow and start for the summit at night. 30-Sep : Eelco, Frank and Danilo reached camp 1. it was very cold almost -15. They are in good health and plan to go to camp 2 tomorrow.

EXPEDITION UPDATED: SUMMITS ON MT. CHO-OYU 27-SEP-2013

Sirdar Mingma Sherpa has reported that Azim and Fernando have sucessfully summitted Mt. Cho-Oyu on 27-Sep at 08:00 AM. They have returned back to base camp safely and preparing to return back to Kathmandu.
Expedition Update
As per message received from advance base camp, Azim and Fernando slept at camp 2 ( 7000m ) on 22 Sep and have safely returned to advance base camp on 23 Sep.On 23 Sep Bruce, Alex , Gia Tortladze and Mingma Sherpa climbed to camp 2 and spent the night and have returned safely to advance base camp. Everyone is doing well and will be resting before waiting for summit window.
Expedition Update
As per message received from base camp, Asian Trekking’s Cho-Oyu Expedition members are at base camp acclimatizing. the team is scheduled to move to intermediate camp tomorrow and reach advance base camp on 13 September.

Fernando Torres Latorre from Spain is scheduled to meet the group in Nyalam as he could not arrive on time due to flight problem.
The expedition is supported by Pasang Tamang as cook and Mingma Sherpa as a personal climbing sherpa.Expedition left for the Tibetan border on 4th September. They reached Nyalam on 5th Sep and will be driving to Thingri tomorrow where they will spend 2 nights as acclimatization before reaching base camp.
