Ghorepani – Poon Hill Trek

Asian Trekking logo
ghorepani-poonhill-pic1

This moderate trek is a wonderful portion of the Annapurna Circuit that encompasses the stunning rhododendron and magnolia forests and includes the highlight of the Poon Hill sunrise, possibly the most memorable part of the whole Annapurna circuit. This trek is ideal for people with less time who still want to experience the full glory of trekking in the Himalayas.

Good To Know

Asian Trekking is a Nepali expedition operating company established 41 years ago. According to Paragraph 26 of the Tourism Act (2035), no foreign expedition teams or companies are allowed to provide expedition services in Nepal directly and any foreign company must work through a Nepali company licensed by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Nepal. As such, Nepali companies are the ones that provide all the legal, administrative, logistical, guiding and support services in Nepal, while also being legally responsible for the safe and responsible conduct of the expeditions. Booking through foreign expedition companies naturally makes the cost to the customer higher due to the extra layer of administration and profit margins, without necessarily adding any extra value.

5

Day 5
Trek to Tadapani

Trek to Tadapani (2630m). A beautiful day’s walking uphill through the forest of rhododendrons and magnolias. If you are lucky, you might even spot some Langur monkeys. Although it is only uphill, it is nice and gradual and an enjoyable 4-5 hours until you reach the village of Tadapani where you can enjoy the incredibly close mountain views of Annapurna South.

6

Day 6
Trek to Ghorepani

Day 7
Visit Poon Hill

Visit Poon Hill (3193m) and trek to Ulleri (1960m). 8
